During the recently held China Badminton League, Choong Tan Fook announced that his wedding plans would be finalized next month where he would take his long time girlfriend Zhang Jiewen to Malaysia before heading back to Guangzhou where the couple plans to settle. Choong had been training and living in Guangzhou for some time and replaced Lee Chong Wei for GZ team at the last minute for the China League's qualification round.
